The Russian Revolution of 1917 was focused on 2 primary events. These events made up the Russian Revolution and were called " The February Revolution and the October Revolution ". These Revolutions had the effect of completely changing the nature of society within the Russian Empire and transforming the Russian state. Csar Nicholas II was removed from his throne in 1917. He abdicated himself leaving the Provisional Government in Power. The army of Russia did not have the means to win and many of them died or suffered severely. Nicholas the II was a bad leader. The February Revolution took place in Petrogad ( which now Present-day is St. Petersburg). There were deadly vilent murders and riot on the streets. Therefore he was removed from his power. The Provisional Government was the temporary government that simply replaced Csar. Many men had been either killed in battle, wounded, or captured by the enemy. about 1,300,000 men were killed, 4,200,000 wounded and 2,417,000 were captured . During tis period many mutinies were made by desperate people because they couldnt take it anymore. The Provisional Government decided to stay at war, however Bolsheviks and other socialists decided to abandon the war and to form new workers. They did what they wanted to do and eventually they became the Red Guards, They were fighting to keep control of this Country.
In The October Revolution the bolsheviks was led by Vladimir Lenin. He and other workers from the Soviet, took control of the Provisional Government of Petrogad. Since they managed to overthrow them; The bolsheviks now saw themselves as leaders of various government charges. All thanks to Lenin they siezed the right power to end this Revolution. They ended it by making the Bolsheviks sign a peace treaty in March 1918.Lenin and the Bolsheviks believed in the teachings of Karl Marx and Communism. Even though Lenin Revolted against landowners and factory owners it was all so he can take cotrol of the provisional government.
